Foregone feelings bring me back
To the site of this invisible car crash
Looking at you upside down and inside out
I take one last look, one deep sigh
As I pull glass fragments from your skin
I say sorry for the inevitability of this car crash
We just never saw the headlights coming
Until our world turned to glass
Just take my hand and say goodbye
Let me walk away without a scratch and watch me die
Father come down and get me cos I am a broken man.
Sirens scream past as they sing songs of rescue towards my love
This is all over and I am so done
As the dust suffocates my last remaining breath
My Spirit leaves this place
And I am left wondering
If love could ever say goodbye with a smile on its face?
