Hold your breathe
And Hide my heart
If time sees us together
Captivated eyes and long conversations
Will turn to sudden goodbyes
I plead with time to forget your face in my eyes
It’s a foolish endeavor
Time is a race I only win when you are away
It ticks faster than the words that fall from our lips
Could captivated eyes ever cheat time?
Make a moment last forever as if we were apart
I plead with time to let me win when we are together
I know that that moment would mean forever
I guess I must just be satisfied
And know that loving you means
That this life will be over before I can say your name
Oh how hours of conversation only lead to longer goodbyes
